Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.
AutoCAD With License Key [Mac/Win] [Updated]
A recent article (via LinkedIn) about a former Autodesk employee who has co-founded a start-up dedicated to creating a new database format for CAD/CAM/CAE (Computer-Aided Design, Computer-Aided Manufacturing, Computer-Aided Engineering) has inspired this discussion. The conversation between Pervasive Queries (PQ) creator Steve Myers and former Autodesk employee and PQ founder Kevin Rudd about why there is not more competition and innovation in CAD is a must read for anyone who works or plays with CAD.
Steve Myers said:
This may be getting old hat for you Kevin, but the company I worked for is very interested in PQ, and I would love to see the current state of CAD more like the state of information systems, where there are competition and innovation. When I started working at the company I worked for, they used what they called a CAD Warehouse, and had no knowledge of CAM or CAE (I think that’s what they are called). It was a warren of file types, formats, communications, maintenance etc… The company is now a major player in the C/CAM/CAE space, however. They are invested in keeping things the way they are. They do not think of CAD like a product, or even as a solution, they think of it as a way of doing things, which has the unfortunate side effect of causing them to resist change. They have an «us and them» mindset, which is part of why I left. The company I worked for is probably not a good fit for you, but it is a great case study in what happens when you bring the BI community into the fold. The problem is they are afraid of anything that would bring up the «BI» name. You can’t call it BI, because they are not BI customers. You can’t call it Business Intelligence because they are not BI customers. BI is the label they use for people who don’t do CAD. They are also very afraid of BI, which is another reason why they are not competitive. They are actually very good at what they do, but the way they do it is more of a personal art than a business process, which is a shame, because there is so much room for it to become a business process. Their major competitors are mostly CRM types of solutions.
Thanks Steve, just when you think you’ve seen it all. Kevin Rudd

The current version of AutoCAD is 2016, released on August 30, 2015. In December 2010, Autodesk announced its annual run of AutoCAD at the Mil-Spec (Military/Government) expo, and showed AutoCAD 2016 running on the latest Windows 7 platform.
AutoCAD LT is AutoCAD’s professional, web-based, and cheaper version. It was released in 2000. This version includes web services, enabling third parties to create web and mobile applications. AutoCAD LT requires an Internet connection to work, and can only be used with a web browser. It was renamed to AutoCAD 2017 in January 2015. In 2017, Autodesk acquired Autodesk Subscription Services and renamed the product AutoCAD Subscription Services.
In 2013, Autodesk announced that they had improved AutoCAD’s Web authoring and layout tools, and renamed it to the product AutoCAD LT Designer. The Professional version of AutoCAD LT was then renamed to AutoCAD LT Professional, and their Academic version to AutoCAD LT Student. The student version can be used without a license fee.
In 2013, Autodesk also introduced a cloud-based solution called the AutoCAD Anywhere product.
AutoCAD LT is available as a standalone product, as an evaluation version of AutoCAD LT with only a 90-day evaluation period, or as a 90-day subscription service with any plan. It is also available as part of the subscription service AutoCAD 365, an annual subscription, billed yearly, for professional users.
AutoCAD LT Student is available as a standalone product, as an evaluation version of AutoCAD LT with only a 30-day evaluation period, or as a 30-day subscription service with any plan. It is also available as part of the subscription service AutoCAD 365, an annual subscription, billed yearly, for professional users.
AutoCAD LT Student was rebranded as AutoCAD LT Professional, and a new subscription service, AutoCAD LT Plus was introduced for up to six users at a time. This service allows for 30-days of on-premises AutoCAD LT Professional and a subscription to web-based AutoCAD LT.
In 2017, Autodesk released AutoCAD LT for Cloud. This offering is a subscription service for AutoCAD LT Professional and Professional-plus users.

In the early 2000s, a new business problem was looming in the enterprise IT realm: security. The problem wasn’t so much that attackers were breaking into IT infrastructures in the middle of the night, but rather that they were getting in. Traditional IT security products (firewalls, IPSes, and IDSes) couldn’t contain them. The market cried out for a more modern approach to security. Security administrators wanted the ability to detect attackers, and they wanted it now.
Enter the next generation of security — UTM, or Unified Threat Management. UTM products deliver a new level of integration and visibility into the endpoint network environment, enabling the security team to effectively monitor, detect and respond to threats.
What’s New In AutoCAD?
Improving the productivity of 2D Drafting:
Easily select and edit complex selections of areas or shapes, such as for an entire building or a main street. Support for multiple layers and embedded layer reference information is automatically incorporated into the selection data.
Adding and Organizing Structures in 2D:
Create and edit structures faster by conveniently accessing common drafting tools. You can quickly insert structures, include dimensions, and generate assembly instructions.
Using the Dimensional Gauge on the Sheet tab, you can view and measure the physical sizes of drawing objects.
Leveraging the power of Power BI:
Present visualizations to colleagues on large screens and easily share them across your team.
